Tirupati Railway Station

 

Tirupati railway station, which is ideally located in the heart of the temple town of Tirupati, is close to the Central bus station, temples and all the major hotels. This is one of the busiest railway station amongst the stations of South Central Railways with many arrivals and departures of trains connecting to various destinations like Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Vijayawada, Chennai, Nagarsol, Howrah, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai etc. This is a broad gauge railway station with 7 platforms.

For the convenience of the passengers, the facilities available at the station are given below:

Terms & Conditions:
v Rooms are allotted on first cum first serve basis. 
v No advance Booking will be entertained. 
v Eligibility: One must process the train ticket for onward Journey.
v For further details on arrival contact Enquiry counter on Platform No.1. 
v Waiting rooms for second-class sleeper and first class passengers are provided with bathing facilities. 
v In addition separate ladies waiting room and VIP lounge is also available.
v Vegetarian refreshment rooms managed by South Central Railway are also available on Platform No.1.

Wheel chairs for the Handicapped and Aged Persons

Three Wheel chairs are available at the three entrances of the main building of the Station. It is available free of cost but Rs. 15/- to be paid to the porter for assistance.

Cloak Room Facilities

For the convenience of the passengers to leave the luggage for safe custody, cloakroom facilities are made available. Only locked baggage will be accepted.
Presently a dynamic & dedicated Station Manager Mr. B Jagadeeswar Reddy heads the station. He and his team of staff may be contacted for any further assistance. 

Railway Reservation Counter

Since Tirupati is an important pilgrim center, due to the heavy floating population and to facilitate the convenience of the passengers, separate reservation complex is located opposite to the main railway station with many reservation counters. Passengers can book the tickets and reserve to any part of the country from here.

Monday thru Saturday: 0800 - 1400 hrs, 1415-2000 hrs
Sundays: 0800-1400 hrs

At the reservation complex, a "Passenger Operated Enquiry Terminal" (POET) is provided wherein passengers can find out the availability of berths, reservation status, etc.

Information for the Senior Citizens' concession
v For Male above 65 years of age and female above 60 years of age 30% concession is given. While booking the ticket kindly avail this facility. 
v The concession is not given to the passengers traveling on passenger trains.
v Ensure to carry the proof of your age while travelling failing which you will be compelled to pay the difference.

Rail cum road facility
v Rail cum road & road cum rail tickets (RCRT) facility is provided to the passengers going to Tirumala Hills and for the passengers departing from Tirumala Hills. 
v Passengers can exchange their RCRT at the SV Bus Station for the tickets to go to Tirumala Hills. 
v Likewise passengers can purchase Road Cum Railway Ticket and board the bus without exchanging the ticket. 
v Kindly show your tickets to the bus authorities for verification.

Car Parking

A large car parking space is provided outside the main station complex

Prepaid taxi counter: 

On the exit of the main gate of the platform, a separate prepaid taxi counter is provided which is controlled by the traffic police.

Renigunta Railway Station:
v Renigunta Railway Station is 10 kms. from Tirupati and is also a very busy railway station and is convenient for passengers proceeding towards Kerala. 
v There is a separate reservation counter provided at the entrance of the station. 
v There are plenty of Bus services to Tirumala & Tirupati starting here.
